Dr. Magno is a gerontological psychiatric certified nurse practitioner. She has been in the healthcare profession for twenty -nine years, fourteen of those years as an advanced practice provider. Her clinical experience includes geriatric management in the skilled, long-term care and house calls programs at private, state, and federal level. Dr. Magno completed her master’s and DNP degree at UT Health Science Cizik School of Nursing in 2015, and finished her post-master’s psychiatric NP program at Wilkes University in 2021. She served as past president for the Geriatric Nurse Practitioners Association Texas Chapter in 2019 . She is an engaged clinician, educator, mentor and advocate in the care of older adults, as such earned her a recognition as The National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence Distinguished Educators in 2020,and as one of five of over two hundred members of the Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) recognized as “Nurse of The Year 2020.
